San Antonio Goldens is not a traditional breeder or puppy mill, we are a family with two young children, two cats, and two purebred “Dark/Red” Golden Retrievers living in a home the N. San Antonio, Texas area.
Our Golden Retrievers Lucky and Lucy are truly the best dogs we have ever had. They are gentle with our Children and cats and have been a wonderful addition to our family.
Their amazing litter of puppies have grown up in a home with a family and have had immediate access to their dog and human parents for guidance and love throughout their short time on this planet. They are used to the sounds of children playing, television, and typical family life as they have grown up in our living room. They have never spent time alone and are very well-adjusted puppies. We’ll begin to work on potty training them over their second month so that they are used to the restroom routine. They have not yet begun obedience training, but we’ll work on basic commands when they are old enough until they find their “forever families”.
We have not named the puppies to keep from getting attached, but instead refer to them by their collar colors, so you can be the first to give them their “proper” names.
We have 4 Male Puppies (Black, Blue, Grey, and Red); referenced according to their collar colors. We have 6 Female Puppies (Pink, Purple, Teal, Red, Blue, and Rainbow).
The litter of puppies has been listed with AKC, and each puppy has a pre-registration number should you wish to have them fully registered with AKC.

Proper adoption age:
The ideal age to adopt a puppy is between 8 and 12 weeks old. Puppies should never leave their mother before 8 weeks, as they need this crucial time to wean, socialize with litter-mates, and learn essential canine behaviors to prevent future behavioral issues.
Key Considerations for Adoption Age:
- 8 Weeks (Minimum): The earliest a puppy should be adopted, as they are fully weaned, eating solid food, and have had initial vaccinations.
- 10-12 Weeks (Ideal): Many experts and breeders prefer this range because it allows for additional, vital social development with the mother and siblings.
- Risks of Early Adoption: Taking a puppy before 7-8 weeks can lead to fearfulness, aggression, separation anxiety, and poor social skills.
- Vaccinations: Puppies generally receive their first vaccinations around 6-8 weeks, making 8+ weeks the safest time to transition into a new environment.
None of the puppies have been “fixed” or “chipped”. All of the puppies will get their first round of vaccinations at 6-8 weeks.
We will be happy to keep them with the litter until 10 -12 weeks if you desire for no additional cost, as to avoid any issues associated with premature adoption.
All of the puppies will come with their AKC listing paperwork and AKC welcome kit.
